Connecticut Club DSM News Update!!!!

Hello CCDSMers!

Its been quite a while since I sent out a email so figured why the hell not.

Winter Meets

As the year winds down and the cold months move in, we are looking for your creative winter meet ideas. If you have one that you think would be fun by all means please suggest it to our event planners (97gstchick and cornrolla). We already have a few ideas that include: bowling, restaurants, and maybe the movies. Keep them coming as were always open for new things.

Raffle

Over the next coupe months we will be looking to have a raffle. The prizes are undecided as of yet but the cost would probably be something like 2 dollars for three tickets and 10 for 5 dollars. The prizes could be anything from a CCDSM sweat shirt, t-shirt etc to dyno time or even a best buy gift card. More details will follow in a few weeks but definitely be on the look out for that.

New Top Banner

A couple weeks ago we had our November cruise meet. I'm looking for someone with pictures from the event. There were several cars and I'm surprised I haven't seen more pictures from the meet. Id like to change our top banner in the next few days so if you have a good picture that you think would make a nice banner please send me a link to it via PM (Kevin90GSX) and I will take it into consideration.

Happy Holiday Season

I am a little late for Thanksgiving but I hope that you and your families had a great thanksgiving. This is my favorite time of year because its always so cheery. Its the one time of the year where everyone comes together whether it be family or friends and has a good time. (For the most part right?) Happy Holidays to you all.

Looking ahead to 2006

What can I say. I am really looking forward to 2006 for CCDSM. Over the year we have met some new faces, seen more drama of course , seen people beat their best times at track, but most of all have had a really great time doing it. We really are a diverse group of people and now going on 3 years running, I'm glad to have gotten to know well most of you, some I have yet to meet. I look forward to bigger and even better meets, drag days, dyno days, cruises, pike nights and more. While CCDSM is a DSM focused club its not so much always about the cars as we have seen but the people and I think that's one of the big reasons the site and club have been so successful in 2005. Thanks for making the club what it is today and look forward to the road ahead.

Take care.

Kevin

Doug if that is something youd like to be in charge of and organize I say run with it. Just make a max amount to spend and make a sign up sheet and such. Sounds like a cool idea to me.

Are we gonna do the like 2004/2005/2006 1/4 mile time lists so we can see the improvement over the years?? Or something along those lines . .

Im working on getting the times database and will prob use the money we raise from the raffle to buy it. It will require valid timeslips to post your times though.

This will help weed out anyone who just goes into their profile and makes up a time like you see happen sometimes on tuners so that they can be at the top.

So in other words probably wont have a thread thats JUST for over the year times. Will just have a database with the latest and greatest.

So then would we do? Give you a copy of our timeslips?

Well if you dont have it scanned or a picture of it hosted somewhere then sure I could do it for you. There will be an option to upload it yourself in the database.

Yea I'll have to have you do it for me :) . . after May I wouldn't be able to scan it or anything.

First off Kevin, nice thread, I feel the same way and I think we have alot of good people on this board (of course a few idiots too;) ) but I feel CCDSM has become a legitimate club and place for local DSM enthusiasts and others to meet, have some fun and occasionally discuss some tech (which I want to see more of!)

Kevin you are great guy and I respect your hard work in keeping this club active and maintaining its positive reputation. Keep it up!

Now to the suggestions:

In addition to timeslips, what about a dyno sheet database? I think it would be very interesting and helpfull to be able to consult these graphs, and more importantly be able to consult the modification lists, and state of tune (A/F ratio, timing advance, type of fuel, etc.) that correspond to them. Possible?

Dyno database and timeslip database are both possible however will have to see how the raffle goes and see how much funding we get.

Thanks for the suggestion.

lol of course not, if your last name ends in Drenzek, you are by default not "an idiot"

Although you are by default "a good shit talker."
