The perfect tune:
Here at FIM we tune to perfection. Whether it’s a EVO,SRT4,STI,DSM, NISSAN, 3000GT VR4, we have you covered. Each car requires its own secret formula, but this is our main outline:
AT IDLE- 15.2 AFR
CRUISING- 13.3 AFR
SPOOL UP- 12.7 AFR for good spool
IN BOOST MID- 11.7 - 12.1 AFR
BOOST AT HIGH RPM- 10.9 - 11.5 AFR
Every car has different timing map's, but we have researched and expieremented to get it perfect to make the most power and still have great driveability with no knock.

blah. about the same. but that is an average. every car is different. DSM's like the fuel in the mid range, VR4's HATE IT! lol. but then the VR4 LOVES fuel up top. like 10.2 sometimes. but every car is different, thats just our average.

my fwd runs a consistant 10.4. lean it out to 11.5 and it makes zero hp more. odd right?
but yeah, i prefer to tune cars a bit richer than what you listed just as an extra safety blanket against heatsoak, or knock, or higher boost on a cold night. longevity. i'd rather lose 20hp and not blow the car up.
not knocking your methods, just explaining my prefered way.
The ecu is always aiming for 14.3-14.7 under open loop operations.
If your cruising at 13.3 ish not only is the car extremely fat rich, but your LTFT HI is fully maxed negative.... or your in closed loop, which you shouldn't be.

good to know. i'm rusty on my fuel trims fran, i know you're always aiming for 100, but i haven't used fuel trims to tune in a LONG time. i used to be more up-on-my-game than i am now.

Yeah I was going to say... If you can tune a stock ECU'd DSM that rich when cruising, something isn't right.

no, your right. we go rich to be safe. ALWAYS check for any knock. and at end of tune, do a few back to back pulls to make sure she's good.
